YES / Warp20 anniversary box set
During the layout of the De-Bug issue 135, 3 month ago, i firstly noticed these wonderful album-art by ‘YES’, for the entire label retrospective-compilation to their 20th label anniversary (1989-2009), simply called ‘Warp20’. And it’s become a very special box set of one of my favorite music labels. Commissioned by Warp, the london-based commercial art studio ‘YES’ and the Dan Holdsworth created a series of landscape images for the main key-visual, a purple Mobius strip.
“The Warp20 consists of a heavyweight 10” square slipcase wrapped in charcoal Buckram embossed paper with tipped-on gloss-laminated cover photograph. Contents include a 192 page book, Warp20, featuring artwork of every Warp release. Two double CD albums and a one CD album, packaged in deluxe case-bound 10” folders. Also included is a five vinyl set housed in uncoated card sleeves with debossed and foiled typography.”
Also i’d like to recommend all the other work of ’YES’, like for Maximo Park, Moloko, A Foundation and Dirty Vegas.
